Neemuch doesn’t have its own airport. The nearest airport is Ahilyabai Holkar Airport located in Indore, some 273 kms away from Neemuch city. Neemuch and Indore are directly connected only via road. And fortunately there are decent government and also private buses plying between these two cities. Ahilyabai Holkar Airport is connected to almost all the important cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai etc via direct as well as indirect flights. Roadways in Neemuch
Neemuch District’s road connectivity is boosted by National Highway (NH) no 79 and State Highway (SH) no 31. NH 79 links Neemuch with Ajmer and Chittor in Rajasthan and Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh. The total length of this highway is 500 km, out of which 280 kms runs in Madhya Pradesh state. These 280 km are shared between Neemuch, Mandsaur and Indore. As for SH no 31 is concerned, it directly connects Neemuch with Dhar, Khargaon, Ratlam, Mandsaur and towns like Lebad, Nagda, Jaora and Nayagaon. Besides, SH no 31 also connects Neemuch to Bhusawal District of Maharashtra state. Local Transportation in Neemuch
Auto Rickshaw (three wheelers) is unarguably the most popular local mode of transportation in Neemuch. However, as of today they are legally permitted to operate only in Neemuch city and its adjoining towns. Besides, tempos also ply in huge number on the roads of the city. Along with auto rickshaws, they too have become important part of local transportation system. And lastly, private jeeps too today integral part of Neemuch transportation system. They usually ply to deep interiors where auto rickshaws and tempos are not allowed . Overall, we can sum up that existing transport infrastructure in Neemuch is pretty decent, but definitely not up to the mark. This is true about local transportation as well as connectivity.
